Alexander Grishkevich / Александр Гришкевич

Alexander Grishkevich

“I don’t paint landscapes per ser – what I create isn’t considered a landscape from a traditional point of view. I am interested in what is coming from within – internal landscape of a person. Hence I do not use characters in my paintings – I am much more fascinated by some internal state: peace, excitement and various complicated feelings” says the artist when talking about his works. Alexander Grishkevich has the ability to see contours of another world, different from the one we are used perceiving. And those feelings are embodied in his paintings, in which he transforms reality into perfection. This world is sterile and clean; its forms, colors and lighting effects are aligned. There is no place for a man in this ideal world – that man is just am onlooker and not a participant.
