Small paintings by Alexander Rodin offered for sale

A collection of Alexander Rodin’s small format paintings (25-50 cm) is now available for sale. They were created in 2006-2007 and represent two similar series – “Imaginary Constellations” and “Zodiacal Signs”. This subject is very dear to the artist: it allows him to show a part of his romantic nature, which is harder for him to reveal in his large canvases.

Alexander played up a theme of zodiac signs and constellations but didn't depict traditional, existing constellations. The artist imagined and painted his own romanticized ones. Also one of the dominating ideas of Mr. Rodin's creative work is the reflection of the unity of the universe in its multitude of appearances and it is presented in its positive and constructive beginning. Thus the optimistic and light mood of these particular series.

The peculiarity of all these paintings is that every figure in the sky is surrounded by twinkling stars. And both the figures and the sky are being one whole (the idea of continuity of a creator and a creation) at the same time.
