Vasily Peshkun / Василий Пешкун
Vasily Peshkun is an artist who keeps the torch of the best cultural traditions of Belarusian realistic art. The artist sees a never-ending source of beauty and creative energy in the infinity of nature; hence his address to landscapes and still lifes. The artist paints from nature only, and that is the keystone of his work. Each canvas is created "a-la prima" (in one session) and is the result of a momentary impulse, impression which demands immediate implementation. Cultural heritage left by renowned Belarusian landscape artists of the 20th century and by French impressionists in regards to studies of interrelations of light and color has facilitated development of perception and the artist's distinctive manner of painting.
