The idea of Oleg Korchagin's art project “Deconstruction of Hunger” was conceived in 2006 and materialized in 2008. The project looks into the process of communication, as one of the functions of contemporary art. The artist asked his friends from Germany, Spain, USA and Russia to send him by mail images of their favorite dishes. Then he redrew the images putting them together as a collage into two graphic panels (90cm x 260cm each). The artist kept the style of the original works.

In this way Oleg Korchagin expressed himself using the language of other artists, which is typical of the post-modernist thinking.  As a surface the artist chose corrugated cardboard left from a used refrigerator box, which can be viewed as an appeal to Arte Povera. Though at the same time the chosen topic of food and pleasure it gives, creates overall optimistic and buoyant feeling.

For the first time the project was displayed in 2008 at Art Media Center “Rodina”, Sochi, Russia and later during the Graphics Triennale in Krasnodar, Russia.
